Take a Deeper dive into Mangroves and act now!

Did you know? ?Over the last Century more than 8 thousand people have been killed and 1.5 million people (children, youths, women and disabled) are left vulnerable to floods as a result of high sea level rise annually.

Did you know?? The mean global flood losses in 2005 for the world's major coastal cities were estimated at a $6billion per year; These is predicted to rise to $ 60-63 billion by 2050.(Hallegate et al. 2013) Did you know?? Mangroves and associated coastal areas have been lost annually at more than 1% in Cameroon but this varies greatly within the regions increasing in the Rio Del Ray areas by 9.4% per year, declining in the Cameroon estuary by -1.1% per year with Douala-Bonaberi (country's economic capital and most populated city) being the highest Hotspot reaching -6.2% per year, and - 2.1% per year in the Estuary of Ntem.(Gordon Ajonina, 2022)

Imagine ? reaching out to more than 1500 people through environmental education and restoring 10 hectares of degraded mangroves areas monthly. This will increase protection against flood actions which would have claimed lives and destroyed properties worth millions. Also, this will reduce the loss of biodiversity and food insecurities since these mangroves will serves as breeding ground for fish and other sea food. Finally, the restored areas will create an important carbon sink which can be marketable to improve the living standard of local communities . We solicit your support for this idea to come to full realization as we bring hope back to the local communities. Thank You.
